John,
Look at you now! one month old already. I see your first smiles while you sleep and this morning you let out a little chuckle as you dreamed. You continue to be a happy baby who loves to be snuggled....and to eat--boy do you like to eat! I can't wait to see how much you've grown when we see the doctor next week. Everyone comments on how handsome you are, and it's true.

John is really starting to sprout! he is getting chubbier by the day. He continues to be a sweet and happy baby.

Aunt Amy visits

Aunt amy flew into see us from St.Louis this weekend. John loved all the added attention-he is quite the ladies man!

2 weeks

2 weeks

Have you really been here for 2 weeks? It seems like forever and just seconds ago that I saw you for the first time. You have grown almost a pound in weight and are at least 3 inches longer than when you were born. You coo and groan before you go to sleep and then you hold your little hands under your chin once you settle down. You love the swing and the sleep hammock. You adore company and welcome being held by any loving arms. Daddy and you are already buddies, snuggling on his chest is a favorite place. Everyday you get stronger and stretch your legs more. This has been the hardest 2 weeks of my life but also by far the best. I love you more each day, don't grow up too fast!

We have had a busy week here at the lake. A new baby really keeps you going! John is eating like a champ and growing every day. He really likes being on his tummy and looking around. John also moves his arms around all the time in his sleep--he does a great elephant trunk imitation! Here are some shots with grandparents, family and my special friend Sarah. Please pardon the sideways shots--still perfecting this blog thing. I have also posted a shot of my Angel Trumpet in bloom--perfect timing
