Hilton Head
John and I went to Hilton head with Nana, Grandad, Aunt Amy and her fiance Lenny. It was really beautiful at the beach but John was a little overwhelmed and didn't adjust very well to the new environment. We came home early--my poor boy's voice was hoarse! I was sad to leave but I'm sure the next time we go he'll really enjoy himself.

snapshots of the week
Gracie likes to keep an eye on John-

John is getting so strong-he can sit in his Bumbo seat by himself for a little while-he loves to be sitting or standing up-lying down is for suckers!

5 weeks
Dear John,
Today you are 5 weeks old. You and I, we're starting to get it together! You feel more comfortable in this new world and I am more sure of myself. We are still on a pretty regular 3 hour schedule--shooting for 4 soon. You sleep well at night and are most active in the early morning. You love to be standing up--you can really get a good look at what's around you that way; plus it lets you practice your jumping! My arms are definitely getting a workout! We try to do a little tummy time every day, although you mostly grunt and wiggle uncomfortably. You view the world with a rather skeptical eye, often looking very seriously at what's around. The time is flying by and I keep trying to remember everything you do before you outgrow it.
I love you so much,
Your Mama

He weighs how much??
Today was John's one month check up. I had been waiting eagerly to see how much weight John had gained. I thought he would be about 8.5 lbs. He definitely has filled out in the last few weeks. When the Dr. announced that John weighed 10 lbs, 7 oz. I was a bit shocked! This kid is packing it on!
Last weekend we travelled to Maryland for Heather and Armen's wedding. It was a lovely day and the bride and groom were both beaming. John did great on the trip. it was fun to show him off to everyone. he was cuddled and cooed over all weekend.
I have also posted a picture showing John with his "pee pee tee pee" --thanks Aunt Barbie and Kitty; it has kept me protected more than once!! John is striking quite the pose.
