34 weeks

this week John has started feeding himself a little. He really enjoys it, he is so proud of himself when he accomplishes new tasks. Right now, we are just trying wafer things and little finger crackers. He really loves eating foods that have a little texture and crunch to them. We are still working on finger to mouth coordination, each day he gets a little better. In addition, John is into screeching! He is getting so much more vocal and babbles much more.

I just love his expression in this shot.....
uh Mom, you can stop with the pictures anytime...

Spring is here

Daylight savings this week and John adjusted seamlessly! whew..I was worried our schedule would be way off but no problems for us! John has started to sleep all the way through the night. from 7:00 till 6-6:30. It's pretty awesome. In the morning he'll hang in his crib for 20 minutes just talking to himself and being mellow. It lets me get up and shower before I get him up-which is nice on work days. Right now he's taking a monster morning nap--we're going on 2 hours. I figured as soon as I started this post he'd wake up.

on to the photos....

The bravest boy

John and I went to get his 2nd flu shot this morning. John enjoyed his ride in the car as usual and was checking out everyone at the drs. office. He is starting to respond more to strangers and for the most part will give a shy smile to new people. I can't believe that he remembered our nurse from the last visit a month ago, but he gave her the biggest grin and some animated arm shaking--which he does everytime he sees someone he likes and recognizes. Then, she gave him the shot--and-he didn't even cry! My brave boy! I guess those fat thighs are good pain insulation. He had fun waiting the 20 minutes required to ensure there is no reaction, all in all he had a ball getting a shot. How great was that? He just went down for his morning nap. It's like a regular day-no big deal! That's the type of kid he is. Yes, he can be assertive, but he adapts to new things so well. What a great kid.
The faces of fun!
